I’m Now a Verified QuickBooks ProAdvisor — Here’s What That Means for Your Business
If you’ve been searching for a bookkeeper who actually knows QuickBooks inside and out — not just someone who learned it on YouTube — I have some exciting news.
My QuickBooks ProAdvisor profile is officially live on Intuit’s national directory, and I’m now verified as an Advanced QuickBooks ProAdvisor serving contractors and small business owners in Prescott Valley, Arizona and the surrounding area.
Here’s what that means for you, and why it matters when you’re trying to get your books under control.
What Is a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor?
QuickBooks ProAdvisor is a certification program run by Intuit — the company behind QuickBooks. To earn it, an accountant or bookkeeper has to pass rigorous exams that test deep knowledge of the software, including setup, reporting, payroll, and troubleshooting.
There are different certification levels, and I’ve earned two:
- QuickBooks Online (Level 2) — advanced certification in QBO, covering everything from chart of accounts setup to class tracking, bank feeds, and custom reporting
- QuickBooks Payroll — certified in running payroll through QuickBooks, including deductions, tax filings, and year-end W-2s
This isn’t a participation badge. It means I’ve been tested on the exact tools I use to manage your books every month.
Why It Matters If You’re a Contractor or Trades Business Owner
Most bookkeepers know the basics of QuickBooks. But if you run a contracting, construction, or trades business, “basic” doesn’t cut it.
You need someone who understands:
- Job costing — tracking labor, materials, and overhead by job so you actually know which projects are profitable
- Subcontractor payments and 1099s — getting this wrong means IRS headaches come January
- Equipment and vehicle expenses — knowing what’s deductible and how to categorize it correctly
- Irregular cash flow — handling the feast-and-famine cycle that comes with project-based work
That’s the world I built Sullivan Bookkeeping Services for. Before I went into bookkeeping, I spent over a decade working directly with small business owners as a licensed insurance agent, real estate professional, and digital marketing consultant. I’ve watched good, hardworking contractors struggle financially — not because they weren’t skilled at their trade, but because nobody was watching the numbers.
The ProAdvisor certification is one more layer of proof that I have the technical chops to back it up.
You Can Now Find Me on Intuit’s ProAdvisor Directory
Being listed on the QuickBooks ProAdvisor directory means you can verify my credentials directly through Intuit’s platform. It’s an independent, searchable listing that shows my certifications, the services I offer, and the industries I specialize in.
